Our club has committed to the Responsible Coaching Movement and pledges to uphold these principles in all of our youth programs.
All FAA Team Staff have taken the Coaching Association of Canada's Rule of Two training module. When following the Rule of Two, all interactions and communications with participants are in open, observable, and justifiable settings, and two responsible adults — whether a coach, parent, or staff — are present.
While all coaches are trained in applying the Rule of Two in all settings and keep their players informed of acceptable practices, we encourage parents/guardians to speak to their players about the Rule of Two and how the can safeguard themselves against being put in a vulnerable position. Canada Soccer has produced this infographic that is helpful in understanding the Rule of Two and how it should be used in a soccer setting.
All FAA Team Staff are required to complete Criminal Background Checks and Vulnerable Sector Checks every 2 years. Additionally, before every new training season (fall and spring), all coaching staff complete declarations stating they haven't been charged with any criminal offences or are under sanction or suspension from other sport bodies.
Team Staff are also required to take the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders and Safe Sport training modules. In a continued commitment to the safety of all our participants and volunteers, coaches will continue to be trained the the ethical and safe delivery of soccer to all participants.
