SUMMER STAFF JOB DESCRIPTIONS

Summer Technical Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of summer camps and events;
  • Organize & lead soccer and fun games for participants;
  • Supervise summer staff, camp participants, volunteers & other participants;
  • Organized check in/ check out of camp participants;
  • Provide feedback to parents, communicate regularly with head office, and report on camp activities;
  • Manage and maintain camp equipment, supplies, and products in an organized manner;
  • Ensuring the safety of camps participants & staff;
  • Site Operations: Conduct pre-camp walkthroughs to understand the site layout, including pick-up/drop-off areas and field locations;
  • Monday - Friday (occasional weekend work).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant experience in soccer (playing and coaching), especially in organizing and delivering camps;
  • Supervisory & leadership experience;
  • Currently completing a post-secondary program, preferably in Recreation, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or Education;
  • Soccer Coaching Certifications & a willingness to complete further certifications;
  • Standard First Aid/ CPR “C” / AED;
  • Must be at least 18 years of age;
  • Must be able to obtain an RNC Code of Conduct w. Vulnerability Check.

 

 Soccer Day Camp Staff

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct soccer drills, skill-building activities, and lead practice sessions for various age and skill levels;
  • Ensure a safe and positive environment for all campers, supervise their activities, and enforce camp rules;
  • Effectively communicate with campers, parents, and other staff;
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a positive and cohesive camp experience and community;
  • Lead group games, participate in camp programs, and assist with special camp events;
  • Monday - Friday (occasional weekend work).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in soccer (playing and coaching), especially in organizing and delivering camps;
  • Currently completing or entering a post-secondary program, preferably in Recreation, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or Education degree;
  • Preferably Soccer Coaching Certifications & a willingness to complete further certifications;
  • Standard First Aid/ CPR “C” / AED;
  • Must be at least 17 years of age;
  • Must be able to obtain an RNC Code of Conduct w. Vulnerability Check 

 

Weekend Soccer Administrator

Responsibilities

  • Be the contact at Feildian Grounds for FAA coaching staff, field marshals, Active Start staff, teams, and parents;
  • Be the contact for Metro League and NLSA for competition weekends, including FAA away games (schedule changes, cancellations, etc.);
  • Checking the FAA email regularly during weekends and responding to teams for changes, cancellations, etc.;
  • Working with our Social Media coordinator in regard to updating weekend events and competitions;
  • Open and close the facility during the weekend;
  • Assist in organizing competition weekends at Feildian Grounds, including medal presentations, updating stats. game equipment, etc.;
  • Keeping the facility clean, including the equipment room;
  • Working assigned weekends during the summer.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant experience in soccer (playing and coaching), especially in organizing and delivering events;
  • Supervisory & leadership experience;
  • Comfortable in administration, including emails and computer registration programs;
  • Currently entering or completing a post-secondary program, preferably Recreation, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or Education degree;
  • Soccer coaching playing and/or coaching experience;
  • Standard First Aid/ CPR “C” / AED;
  • Must be at least 17 years of age;
  • Must be able to obtain an RNC Code of Conduct w. Vulnerability Check.

 

Active Start Staff/ Field Marshalls

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct soccer drills, skill-building activities, and lead practice sessions for our Active Start Program (Every Saturday);
  • Ensure a safe and positive environment for all Active Starts participants, supervise their activities, and enforce camp rules;
  • Effectively communicate with participants, parents, and other staff;
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to create a positive and cohesive camp experience and community;
  • Lead group games, participate in camp programs, and assist with special camp events;
  • Work as a Field Marshall during weekend competition, including supervising referees, participants, parents, and coaches;
  • Must be available during the summer soccer season weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in soccer (playing and coaching), especially in organizing and delivering camps;
  • Currently in high school or entering/ completing a post-secondary program, preferably in Recreation, Kinesiology, Physical Education, or Education degree;
  • Preferably Soccer Coaching Certifications & a willingness to complete further certifications;
  • Standard First Aid/ CPR “C” / AED;
  • Must be at least 16 years of age;
  • Must be able to obtain an RNC Code of Conduct w. Vulnerability Check.
